Our first Rainbow baby – representing 7 days until National Rainbow Baby Day – Naomi Love. I first met Naomi’s parents during their newborn session, where they briefly discussed how she was their rainbow, and that they would like to incorporate some rainbow baby props into the session. My big sister Missy had recommended my Photography business to them, and I am so grateful, because they are some of nicest, most genuine people I have ever met. You see so much love and admiration in Adam’s eyes when he looks at his wife Lacey, and it is so heartwarming to see that; when I don’t see that very often during my newborn photography sessions.

Naomi did so great for her newborn session! She even came back to model a Barbie newborn outfit and props I had (the new Barbie movie was just coming out at the time) and she knocked that out within half an hour! Here big sister Addison was so cooperative and excited to be included in all of her images, as well! She seemed so happy and lucky to be a big sister!

Fast forward to 2024 and Naomi is now ONE!

Lacey says Naomi is the BEST sister! She laughs and smiles when she sees addy! She gives the sweetest hugs and kisses. Her personality IS the rainbow, she is so colorful with her expressions and what she thinks is funny! She will wave to anyone that will wave to her 🤣. Anytime she hears music she stops everything she is doing to dance! We can all be down from a rough day but one toothless grin from that little girl and our whole world is brighter!

This past week I had the best time photographing Naomi for a mini shoot for my Rainbow Baby Awareness Shoots. Lacey chose Lavender from the Rainbow for her.

Naomi is their Rainbow Baby ! If you did not know, a Rainbow Baby is a baby born after a pregnancy or birth loss. Rainbows come after each storm = loss.

Having a rainbow is a giant blessing, but also a very emotional and scary time for their parents and family anxiously awaiting a healthy blessing.

Lacey and Adam had Addy in 2018 with no complications. Two years later, they decided to try again for their second. They became pregnant, but sadly it was an ectopic pregnancy that ended in emergency because of a ruptured fallopian tube that almost claimed Lacey’s life!

They took a risk and tried again about 6 months later, and fell pregnant very quickly. They longingly believed it was their rainbow baby, but lost that little one around 12 weeks gestation.

After that second loss they were so devastated, and gave up hope. There is only so much heartbreak one can go through.

THEN, in 2023 they unexpectedly welcomed their little miracle Rainbow Baby – Naomi LOVE.

They said they gave her the middle name LOVE because they believe that the love from their angel babies is what kept her alive! <3

Enjoy all these adorable images of her, showing off her adorable little personality!

That stern look!

She was over photos, and over me! hahaha

Some cute photos of Addy being her extra self, after her sister was done.

What a beautiful, compelling story. And the photos really help fill out Naomi Love & her big sister, Addy! We never know what a family is going through or what they’ve experienced along the way. But this happy ending is so reassuring.
